Privacy Policy

Overview

SWEEPS is a dungeon crawler game for iOS. We collect the minimum data necessary to run the game and its multiplayer features. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

Data We Collect

  • Gameplay Stats

    Anonymous run data — floors cleared, score, turns taken, items collected — is stored in our Supabase database. This data is associated only with an anonymous device ID and is used for the daily leaderboard and async multiplayer features (ghost trails, dead drops, live feed). No iCloud account is required. It is not linked to any personally identifiable information.

  • Player Name

    You may optionally enter a display name. This name appears on the leaderboard and in multiplayer events visible to other players. You can use any name you choose — real name not required.

  • AI Narration

    In-game text describing your actions and choices is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate the AI narrator’s responses. This text contains only game context (what room you’re in, what you did) — no personal information. Anthropic’s privacy policy governs their handling of API inputs. See anthropic.com/privacy.

  • Voice Input

    If you use voice commands, your speech is transcribed locally on-device via Apple’s Speech Recognition framework. Audio is not recorded or stored by SWEEPS. Apple’s privacy policy governs on-device speech processing.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • No advertising identifiers (IDFA)
  • No third-party analytics SDKs
  • No location data
  • No contacts, photos, or device files
  • No cross-app or cross-site tracking

Data Storage

Game preferences and local save data are stored on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults and app documents). Multiplayer and leaderboard data is stored in our Supabase (PostgreSQL) database hosted on Supabase infrastructure.

Data Deletion

Deleting the SWEEPS app removes all local data. To request deletion of your anonymous multiplayer data from our servers, email privacy@sweeps.show with your in-game player name.

Children

SWEEPS is rated 12+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
